'BUY WITH CONFIDENCE' SCHEME
The 'Buy with Confidence' scheme allows residents to find trustworthy traders who have been thoroughly vetted and approved by Surrey County Council Trading Standards. The online directory www.buywithconfidence.gov.uk can be searched free of charge and its use will help eradicate rogue traders preying on residents
FAMILY LINE SURREY
This registered and established charity provides a freephone helpline to families in Surrey who might be experiencing problems and need to talk them through with someone in confidence and without judgement. CHEER: Concern and Help for East Elmbridge Retired
A local charity based in the civic centre in Esher, which has been serving the retired community with advice, help and befriending for some 60 years. www.cheer-elmbridge.org.uk

Hinchley Wood Townswomen's Guild The local branch of this leading women's organisation meets on the first Monday of the month at 1:45 p.m. at the church hall to hear speakers on various subjects. The Mothers' Union Membership is open to anyone baptised in any branch of the Christian Church. The local branch meets on the second Wednesday of each month . Babes in the Wood Cafe Wednesday mornings, 9:00am-11:00am. For babies and toddlers and their carers: parents, grandparents, nannies or au pairs. Plenty of toys, good coffee and cakes and excellent company. 10-minute childrens' church, with a song and a story, then plenty of time to play and chat afterwards. Hinchley Wood Care A local group which provides lifts to doctors surgeries, local hospitals, dentists etc. for people without transport. New volunteer drivers are urgently needed. Drivers are offered 40 pence per mile petrol allowance, and the group tries not to ask anyone to drive more than twice a month. Journeys are reasonably local and clients are most appreciative. If you can spare an hour or two each month to drive or if you could help by manning the telephone in your own home, please call 07546 407 431 (weekdays 09.30 to 12.00) . Women's Wednesday Fellowship Membership is open to all ladies of the parish, regardless of religious affiliation. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of every month (except August) at the church hall, with a varied range of speakers. Outings to theatres and places of interest are also organised. Probus Club of Hinchley Wood and The Dittons This club for retired and semi-retired professional and business men aims to provide good fellowship among its members. It is strictly non-political, non-sectarian and non-commercial, and completely focused on leisure and pure enjoyment. The club meets at Imber Court every third Tuesday in the month at 10.30 for 11 am. The club aims to have an interesting speaker at each meeting and refreshments are available. Afterwards, members usually stay for a drink and lunch.
