8th to 10th September 2023

Thames Ditton & Weston Green RA Nature & Climate Festival

This three-day event is aimed at bringing the community together to raise awareness of climate change and how we can live sustainably, through a variety of talks, hands on activities and entertainment. There is an Eco Market, a Big Green Comedy Night (six comedians fresh from the Edinburgh Festival), talks and book signings by authors, a Tech-Takeback, a Fashion Swap, a Youth Forum and all kinds of campaigning from paddleboarding against sewage to riding a bamboo bicycle through the Andes!  You can learn to mend and repair clothes, detoxify your home, make greetings cards out of waste plastic, make your garden more resilient and create a wildlife feature. There are loads of activities specially for children including craft sessions, a Smoothie Bike and a Tap Dancing Pigeon!  Brand names taking part include Squires, Finisterre, Friends of the Earth, Washed Up Cards, Loanhood and EV Experts.  In all there are nearly 40 events, most of them free. It’s fun with a serious message: together we can make a difference.  To view the full programme visit www.residents-association.com and look for Nature & Climate Festival on the right.
